Our Current Focus

My research is focused on the links between muscle-tendon design and function in human locomotion. In my master's and doctoral theses, I studied the morphological and mechanical advantage of the muscle-tendon and foot structure in elite East African middle- and long-distance runners. After my PhD, I developed a big database of the muscle-tendon architecture in the lower limb and discover the diversity of the muscle-tendon architecture for children, and adults in the general population as well as athletes. To evaluate the morphology and function of the muscle-tendon, I use in vivo ultrasound measurement technique, EMG analysis as well as kinetics and kinematics approach.

2022年夏に新潟大学にて新たに研究室を立ち上げました。ゼロからのスタートということで設備等、不十分なところも多いですが、国内外の研究機関・研究者の方々と協力しながら少しずつ研究を進めております。
